Daryll-Ann albums ‘Weeps’ en ‘Happy Traum’ uit de jaren 90 behoren nog steeds tot de hoogtepunten van de Nederlandse Indierock.
In 2004 stopten ze plotseling en op een kleine tour in 2013 na (ook wel een verlate afscheidstournee genoemd), bleef het verder stil.
In 2022 vierde het label Excelsior hun 25 jarig bestaan met een festival in Paradiso waar Daryll-Ann een reünie optreden verzorgde. Dit beviel zo goed, dat ze de studio indoken.
En 20 jaar na het verschijnen van hun laatste album is hier dan nieuw werk, het album ‘Spring’.
De heren Paulusma en Soldaat leverden ieder 7 nummers aan het album en ook de zang wordt mooi gelijk verdeeld. De nummers klinken fris en vertrouwd, melodieus en melancholisch en het plezier van de bandleden is goed te horen.
