Op hun derde album zet Porridge Radio de lijn voort die ze inzetten met hun vorige album “Every Bad” uit 2020. Het viertal uit Brighton klinkt wat volwassener en bovenal theatraler.
De karakteristieke stem van zangeres Dana Margolin is doordrenkt van angst, wanhoop en frustratie. Ook tekstueel gezien is het geen vrolijke boel, maar er is ook ruimte voor de nodige zelfspot. Muzikaal is het zeer divers en met veel oog voor detail.
Slepende zware gitaren enerzijds, een simpele pianomelodie anderzijds.
Indierock en postpunk meets emo.
