PLATENHUIS ‘T OOR 40 JAAR!

Op zaterdag 15 maart vieren we dat we 40 jaar bestaan!
We zullen dit vieren met optredens en aanbiedingen, toeters en bellen en wat al niet meer.

RECORD STORE DAY

Op zaterdag 12 april is het Record Store Day!
Zoals je gewend bent gaat dit gepaard met diverse unieke releases.

TIP VAN GERARD

BEANS & FATBACK – Hold Fast (lp/cd) 27,95/16,95

Ik moest even schakelen toen ik vernam dat er een nieuwe plaat van Beans & Fatback aankwam. Verrek wat was dat ook alweer, het zal de leeftijd zijn.
Hun eerste drie cd’s heb ik keurig in de kast staan en ik herinnerde me weer menig poging om de band tot een instore te bewegen, helaas!
Maar goed, na 10 jaar is er een nieuwe plaat en de kern van Beans & Fatback bestaat nog steeds uit Onno Smit en Paul Willemsen.
Smit en Willemsen waren de laatste jaren vooral actief als begeleiders en producers van Michele David. Maar nu is er dus ‘Hold Fast’, naar eigen zeggen een hommage aan de postpunk van eind jaren zeventig. De invloeden laten zich raden; Lou Reed, New York Dolls…
Tien eigen nummers, een kruising tussen garagerock en soul.
Verdomd vertrouwd klinkt het, puike plaat!
