11.00 uur – AD VANDERVEEN
Een veteraan singer-songwriter, die vrijdag 19 april zijn 25ste album uitbrengt: ‘Rise in love’.
Een mooiere aanleiding weet ik niet te bedenken!
Het is onderhand een fijne traditie geworden, dat Ad de Recordstore Day opent in Platenhuis ’t Oor.
13.00 uur – SEB ADAMS
Alternatief pop rock trio. Hun tweede album komt dit jaar uit en zij zijn natuurlijk de winnaar van de allereerste 035 PopPrijs 2024.
Wij ontdekten ze via Kink.
15.00 uur – SUBTERRANEAN STREET SOCIETY
Deens Nederlands trio, die hun muziek omschrijven als een mix tussen alternative, folk en grunge.
Het derde album ‘Bleep’ is net verschenen.
17.30 uur – DONNA BLUE
Het tweede album van Donna Blue ‘Into the realm of love’ werd overladen met lovende recensies, door o.a. Volkskrant en Shindig!
Vaak wordt hun muziek vergeleken met het illustere duo Sinatra en Hazlewood.
De samenwerking tussen zangeres Danique van Kesteren en Bart van Dalen wordt vaak omschreven als een kruising tussen indie pop, exotica en sixties yé yé.

EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN – Rampen (Apm: Alien Pop Music) (2lp/2cd) 49,95/24,95

Einstürzende Neubauten zijn met een heus dubbelalbum op de proppen gekomen, 4 jaar na Alles In Allem en 44 jaar na hun oprichting. Rampen-APM; Alien Pop Music herbergt 15 tracks, verdeeld over 2 discs.
Qua tijdsduur had dat nauwelijks gehoeven, het zit hem meer in de verschillen. Disc 2 is iets experimenteler dan disc 1, hoewel beide discs de nodige portie popmuziek bevatten. Of moeten we spreken over Alien Pop Music? Want eigenzinnig blijven de Neubauten sowieso.
Het is een volwassen popalbum geworden, met natuurlijk wel de buitenissige percussie van N.U. Unruh en de karakteristieke teksten en zang van Blixa Bargeld. Mochten we weer 4 jaar moeten wachten op de volgende, met dit album kunnen we een hele tijd vooruit!
